Subs are due three times a year, in January, May and September, and are currently £30. The Subs go towards Monday evening activities, insurance, badges and equipment costs. Money should not be a barrier to Explorers, if you have any questions regarding costs please speak to one of the leadership team.
Subs can be paid via Virgin Money Giving and using the following link: http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/fund/abingdonesusubs. By using Virgin Money Giving we are able to automatically claim 25% Gift Aid if you are a UK tax payer. If you would like to pay using an alternative method please contact one of the leadership team.
All members of Abingdon ESU are encouraged to work towards their Duke of Edinburgh Awards as they are directly applicable to the Chief and Queen Scout Awards. The Unit provides opportunities for members to undertake expeditions throughout the year and members are encouraged to work towards the other Award sections outside of Monday evenings.
The eDofE platform is used to keep track of progress. You can access eDofE at the following link: https://www.edofe.org/
To access eDofE and the DofE Award you need to register with an Award Authority. We undertake our DofE scheme through the Oxfordshire County Scouts. To register you need to fill out the attached form and return it to one of the leadership team.
We use an online membership system called Online Scout Manager (OSM) to store membership information, view the programme and keep track of camps and events. When you join the Unit your parents/guardians will be given access to OSM so you can sign up for camps and keep your information up-to-date.
To log in to OSM use the following link: https://www.onlinescoutmanager.co.uk/parents/
